Cramer sets stage for 2008 expansion with core team additions and promotions

January 8, 2008

Norwood, MA, January 8, 2008 – Cramer, a digital marketing and event solutions agency, today announced personnel additions and changes within its operational and financial teams. These changes come on the heels of a recent influx of creative and marketing hires announced over the past quarter, and will provide the additional framework needed to support the expansion of Cramer’s customer base.

• Long-time Cramer employee, Jim Soby, is moving from his prior position as Corporate Controller to Vice President/General Manager, a new position within the agency’s digital marketing team.
• Madlene Olander is transitioning into her new role in the digital marketing group as Director of Delivery.
• Cramer veteran, Charlie McKinnies, is replacing Soby as Corporate Controller.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce these promotions, particularly as this news is a direct result of Cramer’s success in digital marketing,” said Darren Ross, Executive Vice President, Cramer. “I am confident that Jim Soby, in tandem with Madlene Olander, will be able to provide the type of leadership and commitment that will add to the digital marketing division’s position of strength going forward.”

Tom Martin, CEO, Cramer, shares Ross’ excitement regarding these most recent staffing changes and has great confidence in the individuals involved.

“They are all valued members of the Cramer family,” explains Martin. “I know Charlie McKinnies will fill the big shoes Jim left behind, and bring his own unique capabilities to the role of Corporate Controller.”

Jim Soby served as Corporate Controller at Cramer for more than eight years. And now, in his new role as General Manager, he will run the day-to-day operations, and continue to build out the production capacity for the growing needs of the digital marketing business. Prior to Cramer, Soby was a Controller for Castel, a high tech firm specializing in software development, an Accounting Manager at DiPesa and Company and a financial analyst at Stop & Shop Companies Inc. A CPA, Soby holds a B.S. in Accounting from North Adams State College, now known as the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).

In her new role as Director of Delivery, Madlene Olander will oversee the Project Management, Creative, Technology and User Experience departments. Madlene will report to Jim Soby in his role as General Manager of the digital marketing business. Madlene had a significant impact on Cramer’s project management group throughout the past year, and will continue to focus on improving the process across all digital marketing capabilities. Prior to Cramer, Olander was at Truth and Soul Inc., a start-up ad agency, where she set up their delivery management and business management/operational capabilities. Olander also spent five years working for DIGITAS, a global interactive agency network, in progressively senior positions, most recently as Vice President/Associate Director, Delivery Management. While at DIGITAS, Olander managed top-tier accounts including FedEx, Terminix, Proctor & Gamble, Cingular, Virgin Life Care and AT&T.

Charlie McKinnies has been promoted to Corporate Controller at Cramer after having been a part of Cramer’s Accounting department since 1998, most recently as Assistant Controller. Prior to Cramer, McKinnies was a Staff Accountant in the Office of Finance at Curry College, where he received his B.A. in Business Management. McKinnies also holds an M.B.A. from Northeastern University.
